Fan Comments

Read and write the comments fans actually leave — 축하해요, 수고하셨어요, 파이팅, 레전드 — and understand 본방사수.

축하해요 chukahaeyo congratulations

Written 축하, said [추카] — ㄱ and ㅎ merge into a strong ㅋ sound. For a win, a birthday, a comeback.

수고하셨어요 sugohasyeosseoyo thank you for your hard work

What you say when someone has finished something that took effort. There's no neat English equivalent, which is exactly why fans everywhere learn this one. Learn it in this longer, respectful form. The shorter 수고했어요 is for friends and people younger than you — to an artist, or anyone you look up to, it can sound like you're talking down.

파이팅 paiting you can do it! / go for it!

From English 'fighting', but it means encouragement, never a fight. Also spelled 화이팅.

레전드 rejeondeu legendary

From English 'legend'. Used for a performance that was unforgettable.

본방사수 bonbangsasu watching it live, no matter what

Read it block by block: 본 · 방 · 사 · 수. Four blocks you can already read.

오늘 무대 레전드예요 oneul mudae rejeondeuyeyo Today's performance is legendary

오늘 (today) and 무대 (performance) you know. 레전드 ends in a vowel, so 예요.

Episode 3 of 3 — after the concert, the two fans walk out together (original scene)

오늘 무대 레전드예요!
oneul mudae rejeondeuyeyo! — Today's performance is legendary!
맞아요, 진짜 최고예요
majayo, jinjja choegoyeyo — You're right, it's really the best.
다음 방송도 본방사수해요!
daeum bangsongdo bonbangsasuhaeyo! — Let's watch the next broadcast live too!
좋아요! 내일 봐요
joayo! naeil bwayo — Sounds good! See you tomorrow.

Say it out loud

수고하셨어요 sugohasyeosseoyo thank you for your hard work

Listen, then repeat aloud. Matching the rhythm matters more than perfection.

Why? Comments are where you'll use Korean first

Most learners write their first real Korean not in a conversation but in a comment box. The good news: fan comments are short, polite, and built from a small set of fixed phrases. Learn five and you can read most of a comment section — and leave one yourself. Keep them in 해요체, as here. You're writing to someone you admire and have never met.

Why? 본방사수: four blocks, one promise

본방사수 packs a whole sentence into four syllables: 본방 is the original broadcast, 사수 is 'to guard with your life'. Together: I will watch it live, no matter what. Fans write it before a show airs — it's a word for broadcasts, not for a concert you attend in person. Add 해요 and it becomes a verb — 본방사수해요. And one spelling to know: the cheer is officially written 파이팅, but you will see 화이팅 just as often. Both are read the same way by fans; we teach the standard spelling.
